Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute (Pyatigorsk State Pharmaceutical Academy) is one of the leading pharmaceutical higher educational institution in Russia. The Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute was founded in 1943 as the Pyatigorsk Pharmaceutical Institute. In 1994, Pyatigorsk Pharmaceutical Institute was renamed in Pyatigorsk State Pharmaceutical Academy. In 2012 Volgograd StateMedical University and Pyatigorsk State Pharmaceutical Academy merged together and became Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute. The structure of the Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute consists of the 23 departments with 249 skilled teaching staff, 2 educational buildings, four dormitories, Scientific Library, Botanical Garden and biological testing laboratory. Currently 1973 students are enrolled in Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute. Till now Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute has given 17600 specialists.
