Biography :

Dmitry A. Ruban obtained his diploma and CS degrees in geology at the Rostov State University (Russia) and PhD degree in geology at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). He works as Associate Professor (Docent) at the Southern Federal University (Rostov-na-Donu, Russia), where teaches various geological courses. He is a member of the Swiss Association of Energy Geoscientists and also a member of the editorial board of two international journals ("Geologos" and "Stratigraphy and Sedimentology of Oil-Gas Basins").

During his career, Dmitry A. Ruban published a total of about 400 papers (including dozens in international journals) on a broad spectrum of topics, including stratigraphy, paleontology, tectonics, and management of natural and mineral resources. He contributes actively to the fastly growing field of geoconservation and geotourism and develops its conceptual framework for the both Russian and international practitioners.
Dmitry A. Ruban is also interested in ecological law and climate change policy at local, national, and international levels.
