Biography :

Prof. Richard Isralowitz is Director of the Regional Alcohol and Drug Abuse Resources Center/Negev Project Vision, Spitzer Department of Social Work, Ben Gurion University, Israel.  He has served as Director of the University’s Hubert Humphrey Institute for Social Research and as Director of Social Research, Graduate School for Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University.  Also, he has served as senior advisor to the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs for social research development in Africa and the Middle East.
Among the honors he has received for his professional work are: Distinguished International Scientist, National Institute on Drug Abuse; International Scholar, New York University; the Hallsworth Professor of Social Policy, University of Manchester, England; Kellogg Foundation Fellow, Salzburg, Austria; Fulbright Fellow, University of Singapore; British Council Scholar, University of Kent, England; and, Research Fellow, United States Department of Justice. 
He received his doctorate from the Florence Heller Graduate School for Advanced Studies in Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University.
His professional publication record includes over 100 articles and 11 books on substance abuse and social policy issues.
