Biography :

Dr. Theresa Sabonis-Helf is a Professor of National Security Strategy at the National War College in Washington DC, where she has taught since 2001.  She is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University in the Science, Technology and International Affairs Program.  She has served on Admiral James Stavridis’ EUCOM Advisory Panel, and as a member of the NATO Defence College’s Academic Advisory Board.  She has lived and worked in seven countries of the former USSR, has assisted two nations with the development of their first National Security Strategies, and has published and lectured extensively on climate change policies, post-Soviet energy and environmental issues, regional and international energy trade, and the politics of electricity.  Dr Sabonis-Helf received a BA in Literature from Emory University, an MPA in International Relations from Princeton University, and a PhD in Political Science from Emory University.
