Biography :

Dr. Iddo Kan

My research activities are related to the scientific areas of agricultural economics, environmental and resource economics, regional economics and political economics. The common factor among most of my studies is the economic analysis of agricultural land use. I investigate this topic in relation to irrigation and drainage management, solid-waste management, assessment of climate-change impacts, rural landscape preservation, evaluation of externalities, and siting of noxious facilities and water pricing in political decision-making systems. Owing to my background in the scientific disciplines of soil and water (B.Sc.) and agricultural economics, my expertise is in integrating natural processes into economic analyses with the objective of characterizing management strategies and policies under optimal and/or equilibrium conditions.
